Den katolske skat fra det 12. \u00e5rhundrede var under renovering p\u00e5 det tidspunkt, selvom \u00e5rsagen til branden stadig var temmelig uafklaret efter en lang unders\u00f8gelse. Branden var en skarp p\u00e5mindelse om, at flere hundrede \u00e5rs arv kan blive til aske og \u00f8delagt p\u00e5 blot f\u00e5 minutter. Historic England* beskriver branden som \u2019m\u00e5ske den mest \u00f8del\u00e6ggende af katastrofer\u2019 for beskyttede bygninger. Hvis der alligevel skulle opst\u00e5 en brand, ville det v\u00e6re afg\u00f8rende at kunne identificere kilden og begr\u00e6nse de \u00f8del\u00e6ggende og uerstattelige skader. Derudover ville det sikre, at personer, der er p\u00e5 anl\u00e6gget, hurtigt kunne identificeres og evakueres. Derfor skal brandalarmsystemerne v\u00e6re aktive d\u00f8gnet rundt, s\u00e5 uanset om anl\u00e6gget er beboet eller ej, kan der blive givet indsigt, der g\u00f8r det muligt for anl\u00e6gget at reagere hurtigt p\u00e5 potentielle katastrofer og mindske risikoen ved at advare det lokale brandv\u00e6sen og andre ansvarlige bygningsmedarbejdere \u00f8jeblikkeligt.<\/p>\n<p>Ud over de praktiske sikkerhedshensyn ved brand har fredningsprojekter desuden den ekstra bekymring at beskytte bygningsstrukturen mod un\u00f8dvendige \u00e6ndringer for at bevare dens historiske v\u00e6rdi. Derfor er det ogs\u00e5 en overvejelse at v\u00e6lge et brandbeskyttelsessystem, der ikke er afh\u00e6ngigt af en ekstern str\u00f8mkilde og ikke p\u00e5virker bygningsstrukturen.<\/p>\n<p>Tr\u00e5dl\u00f8se l\u00f8sninger i aktion<\/p>\n<p>For at overv\u00e5ge og lokalisere brandrisiko under byggefasen, mens den permanente l\u00f8sning venter p\u00e5 at blive installeret, er et midlertidigt brandalarmsystem afg\u00f8rende. For at st\u00f8tte historiske bygninger har Ramtech tr\u00e5dl\u00f8se l\u00f8sninger, der kan implementeres uanset st\u00f8rrelse, placering eller tidsramme, hvor der er brug for et midlertidigt brandsikkerhedssystem.<\/p>\n<p>For eksempel, da Great Scotland Yard og det London-baserede entrepren\u00f8rselskab Galliard Homes skulle beskytte et tidligere hovedkvarter for Metropolitan Police, der var opf\u00f8rt i kategorien II, og som skulle omdannes til et luksushotell med fem stjerner, var det vigtigt at have et system, der kunne sp\u00e6nde over det enorme Edwardianske byggeri, der blev udvidet (med en overflade p\u00e5 92.000 kvadratmeter fordelt over syv etager). For at beskytte den ikoniske struktur anvendte Ramtech et system med over 30 WES-alarmpunkter og st\u00f8vt\u00e6tte detektorer. Derfor blev der indsat et system med mere end fem WES-alarmpunkter og varmeafm\u00e6rkninger i renoveringsomr\u00e5derne.<\/p>\n<p>For projekter, der str\u00e6kker sig over lange perioder, s\u00e5som den 30 mio. pund kostede renovering af Nottingham Castle udf\u00f8rt af G.F. Tomlinson \u2013 som varede tre \u00e5r \u2013 eller den seks\u00e5rige ombygningsprojekter p\u00e5 Donaldson\u2019s \u2013 en tidligere skole opf\u00f8rt som Grade A p\u00e5 Edinburghs centrum \u2013 er det vigtigt at have et system, der kan tilpasses hurtigt op og ned uden behov for tidskr\u00e6vende kablede installationer.<\/p>\n<p>I Edinburgh blev mere end 60 WES-alarmenheder opsat over hele omr\u00e5det for at f\u00f8lge projektets udvikling. P\u00e5 Nottingham Castle var det en utrolig udfordring at beskytte n\u00e6sten 1.000 \u00e5rs historie mod risikoen for brand under en omfattende renovering. Slottet stolede p\u00e5 Ramtechs WES-alarmsystem, og den eksisterende l\u00f8sning blev styrket ved at kombineres med Ramtechs REACT-platform.
