What skills helped you succeed and what new skills did you have to develop?
Aron: Although the roles are very different, several finance skills transfer well. Being financially literate helps me quickly assess commercial opportunities. I have always worked with many stakeholders and now this happens more externally with customers. There are knowledge areas I needed to strengthen but with the support of colleagues and my earlier experience at Ramtech, this has not been too difficult. The biggest mindset change has been around risk. In finance you work to mitigate risk. In business development you take calculated risks to support growth.

Aron: Ramtech is a fantastic place for learning and growing. Smaller companies sometimes have a reputation for limited progression, but Ramtech is a great example of why that is not always true. My experience shows that if someone has the potential, is motivated and communicates their long-term aspirations, the opportunity will come.
